I am Ronan Currid,  Master Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master and Life Coach based in Vancouver, Canada.

I experienced so many symptoms associated with Anxiety and an over sensitive nervous system over a 15 year period which resulted in intense Panic Attacks where I was hospitalized multiple times.

I went from rock bottom to breaking the Anxiety cycle and cracking the code on how to retrain the nervous system to a  Anxiety symptom free life. During most sessions I use a combination of techniques from NLP, Hypnotherapy, Reiki and Life Coaching. The first step is to understand the mechanics of the brain and why you are experiencing so many symptoms.

1Is hypnotherapy good for anxiety?
For many people who are experiencing anxiety, hypnotherapy is beneficial. Hypnosis is able to alter the mental state which can have a calming effect on those who are dealing with anxiety symptoms. Through the power of suggestion, addressing the subconscious mind directly influencing your neuropathways towards creating new habits of thinking, awareness and checking in.
2How often should you do hypnotherapy?
While there is no exact answer to this question, the frequency of your sessions will be up to you and your levels of resistance to change. Whether you decide that one session a week or twice a month is best, it's best to communicate with your hypnotherapist about how often they feel you should come in for sessions based on what may work best to accomplish the goals you've set out for yourself.
3How many hypnotherapy sessions are needed for anxiety?
There are different factors that can determine how many sessions you'll need with your hypnotherapist. One major factor is the severity of your anxiety symptoms and how sensitized your nervous system is. For instance, if you have an underlying mental health disorder that has triggered anxiety then this would require more sessions than someone without a pre-existing condition who experiences situational anxiety leading up to important events in life.
4How long does it take for hypnosis to work?
The process of hypnosis takes time and dedication on your part. They will be able to create the appropriate hypnosis sessions in order for you to see lasting results. However it takes as long as it takes is the kind of attitude to cultivate, as this takes the pressure of time away.
5Is hypnosis covered by insurance Canada?
Usually, it is not, but please speak to your insurance provider.
6How does anxiety affect people?
Anxiety can have different effects on different people and how it manifests within them can also vary greatly from person to person. While many individuals feel as though they can't control their thoughts or actions which lead up to feeling anxious, hypnosis therapy offers a safe environment for those dealing with this mental health disorder in which you'll be able to explore any underlying factors that fuel these feelings as well as learn to change your response to Anxiety which will help you to better manage your anxiety in any given situation.
7How long can hypnosis last?
Hypnosis is not a permanent state and should not be treated as such. You can go into hypnosis and come out of it whenever you feel like you've reached the limits of your comfort zone while feeling at peace and capable of relaxing in any given situation. Depending on what you decide to use hypnosis for, the length of time spent in hypnosis will vary from person to person.
